“Kostaldeko Bizitza” is a creative project that speaks to us in multiple languages. At its core, the visual metaphor, intertwined with literary expression, creates an organic symbiosis between the role of a passionate artist who becomes a father and his journey of reimagining both himself and his work as a painter.
Jon begins a piece in which the line between sea and land embodies the duality of human existence. In the water, he discovers his reflection; with each wave, the urge to create rises, yet his feet remain firmly planted on the shore, where ideas must patiently wait for the rhythms of life and shifting priorities to dictate the when and the how. Throughout this process, lines emerge as a central motif, connecting the signifier with the meaning of every form.
Atelier Sola is born from the dialogue between Ainhoa de Sola’s sculptures and Jon Sola’s paintings. The ceramics, inspired by the shapes and lines of Kostaldeko Bizitza, bridge the flat and the three-dimensional, exploring the dynamic interplay between form and line. The exhibition expands the exploration of play and creativity, addressing themes such as time, motherhood, and the return to one’s roots. Atelier Sola invites viewers to reflect on the profound connections between art, life, and personal transformation.
Context
“Kostaldeko Bizitza” es una obra que nos habla en diferentes lenguajes. Es, inicialmente, la metáfora visual quien articula con su lenguaje literario una simbiosis orgánica entre el rol de un apasionado artista que se convierte en aita y que mientras se re imagina a sí mismo y a su trabajo creativo como pintor.
Jon Sola decide comenzar una obra donde la línea que une el mar y la tierra representa la dualidad del ser humano. Por un lado, descubre su propio reflejo en el agua donde con cada ola aparece la necesidad de crear sin olvidar que sus pies se mantienen firmes en tierra donde las ideas tienen que esperar a que los tiempos que nos exigen las nuevas prioridades marquen el cuándo y el cómo. Las líneas son un concepto protagonista durante todo el proceso creativo ya que resultan un elemento de conexión entre el significante y el significado de cada forma.
“Atelier Sola es el resultado del diálogo entre las esculturas de Ainhoa de Sola y las pinturas y de Jon Sola. Las cerámicas, inspiradas en las formas y líneas que se generan en Kostaldeko Bizitza, crean una conexión entre lo plano y lo tridimensional, explorando la interacción de la forma y la línea. Así, esta muestra amplía la perspectiva del juego y los procesos creativos, abordando temas como el tiempo, la maternidad y el retorno a las raíces.
